Sponsored by the Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali through the Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione and the Ministero degli Affari Esteri through the Istituto Italiano di Cultura a Tel Aviv, that collaborated on the realization of the exhibition at The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, April through July 2001. The book is published both in Italian and English editions. The format is that of the collana classica, that is 25 x 28 cms, with elegant cover art-work; five colour printing on 150 gr. patina paper. The 300 page volume is composed of: two institutional prefaces; five chapters with notes; catalogue raisonnèe and bibliography. It is furnished with more than 300 photographs, the majority duotone, of which 204 are full page. All the published illustrations, unless specified in the captions, belong to the Fondo Morpurgo at the Museo Archivio di Fotografia Storica – Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione. The book can be considered a text dedicated to art-photography, however the contributions of a socio-historical and geopolitical nature, concerning Italy, the Balkan States, Great Britain, Israel and Palestine are also notable.
